The day after the Stag and Hen party.......

OK, so the planned "better nights sleep" never eventuated.  After all that travel getting to London and then a half day of drinking you would think I would have slept pretty soundly - apparently not.  I reckon about 3-4 hours was all I got!!!!!

So it was after a bit of a slow start, that included a cooked breakfast at the Wet Fish cafe in West Hamstead, that I headed into town to meet up with Cindy and the rest of the Hens party girls who were just finishing brunch at Provodores, a very nice cafe on Marylebone High Street.

From there it was off to wander the streets of London.  Fortunately Grace's work place was close by so we were able to drop off their bags so they didn't slow us down.

We wandered around central hours for a few hours, with one of the highlights for Holly and Grace being the visit to M&M World near Leicester Square - what an amazing place. It's spread over three floors with every imaginable sort of M&M merchandising available.  You can even get personalised M&M's made on the spot!  All at ridiculous prices of course.

We stopped for a coffee break and to give Michael a chance to catch up with us.  I have to admit that I'm a bit of a coffee snob - all right, I'm a major coffee snob and I'm struggling to find a decent one yet.

After recharging the batteries with some pretty average caffeine it was off for some more exploring - Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Pall Mall, Oxford St, Regent St, Covent Garden, Whitehall, Downing Street.......... En route Cindy even managed to find a very obliging Bobby and get a photo with him.

I couldn't believe when I found out that Michael hadn't yet been to Trafalgar Square and he's been living in London for nearly a year!

Lunch was at The Red Lion on Parliament Street opposite Downing Street.  Highly recommend it for its awesome pies.  I had the mini pie and beer taster consisting of three pies and three ales - beautiful!!

After more wandering it was back to the B&B to get ready to go back out again to the
SkyGarden for dinner.  It's a rooftop restaurant, 36 floors up set amongst loads of garden greenery with the most amazing 360 degree views of London.  It was a perfectly clear night, so the city looked fantastic.  The restaurant overlooks the Thames with all the historic landmarks easily seen.  Absolutely stunning and quite remarkably the dinner was a very reasonable price.

Dinner at the Sky Garden was a great way to end an excellent day!  If you're ever in London, I would recommend a visit.  Book in advance though!
